Position title: Manager-NMR Facility:
Reporting to: Dean, NCBS through Faculty In Charge of the Facility.
Key Objectives & Goals of the Facility:
Over the past several years, the value of structural biology techniques have been realized in other fields in biology. NMR spectroscopy is still the only method of determining 3-D solution structure of proteins and other macromolecules at the atomic level. The dynamics of proteins, responsible for understanding how proteins achieve their unique function; is extensively studied by NMR spectroscopy. The mission of NMR facility is to assist NCBS/inStem researchers interested in characterizing protein domain constructs of novel biologically-important gene products, and, in studying binding of inhibitor of protein molecules. To this end, the manager at the facility will be available to interact extensively with users, providing support and education.
The goals of this facility will be two-fold:

To assist research of NCBS/inStem faculty in collecting and analyzing NMR data.
Requirements:
The candidate should have a Masters or PhD in a discipline relevant to the needs of the role. S/he should have at least 3 years of experience of using NMR spectroscopy in an academic or industry setting. Experience in Bio-molecular NMR is preferred. The candidate is expected to maintain the facility and assist researchers to collect/analyse NMR data.
Remuneration:Attractive salary package shall be offered to the selected candidate. Higher salary will not be a constraint in deserving case.
Duration & Type of Post: The selected candidate shall be offered a two (2) year contract from the date of joining, which shall be reviewed and renewed annually. Depending upon the performance and requirement of the facility the contract may be extended.
