Welcome to Bangalore Microscopy Course
The Bangalore Microscopy Course is organized at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore, India every year during September-October. If you have participated in this course as a participant, faculty, teaching assistant or industry representative we welcome you to register on this site and share your thoughts, photographs of the course etc.. and use this as a forum to connect with others who have involved in this course over the years. Bangalore Microscopy Course is taught by world leaders in biological microscopy. This course provides didactic and hands-on training in state-of-the-art optical microscopy techniques. A range of topics from basic microscopy to super-resolution imaging is covered. Research seminars detailing applications of light microscopy to address specific biological questions is also part of the program. Lectures are combined with hands-on training in a dedicated teaching laboratory equipped with many state-of-the-art microscopes. The final two days of the course give the participants an opportunity to do independent work or a mini-project. The course is intended to become a major venue for microscopy training in Asia, similar to microscopy courses at Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, USA and EMBO workshops in Europe.
