Call outline: “CiRA-ADBS training program in generation and maintenance of human induced pluripotent stem cells,” organized by the Accelerating the application of Stem cell technology in Human Diseases (ASHD) program and The Centre for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, Japan, aims to expand the expertise for stem cell research in India. As part of this, every year CiRA invites Indian researchers for a training program which features instruction on methods for the generation and propagation of human iPS cells at the laboratories at CiRA. The program has trained 13 participants in the past two years. Now entering its 3rd year, the CiRA-ADBS training program has been very successful, and we wish to continue to identify Indian researchers with high potential and engage them in this 7-day, all expenses paid, exciting program, during the month of November, 2018.
Who can apply: The training program is primarily targeted to SRFs/PhD students/Post-doctoral fellows affiliated to a laboratory in India. Applicants must have basic mammalian cell culture skills. Experience in primary/stem cell culture is desirable. Upper age limit for applicants is 40 years at the time of submission of application. Candidates should also possess a valid passport with minimum 6-month validity at the time of submission of application.
Selection procedure: An expert committee will screen the applications and the selection is based on qualification, prior experience and a statement on the requirement of expertise from this training program for ongoing research and future prospects.
