BIOINFORMATICIAN ON HUMAN BRAIN DISORDERS PROGRAM

The Accelerator programme for Discovery in Brain disorders using Stem cells (ADBS) is a scientific venture to understand mental illness by harnessing the power of modern human genomicsand stem cell technology. The Program is a collaborative initiative of three institutions from Bengaluru, India – the Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (inStem), the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS).

Description: A Bioinformatician position is available for candidate with bioinformatics expertise to work in this program. The appointment will be a fixed term position initially for a period of one year that may be further extended depending on the performance of the candidate. The position comes with a consolidated pay based on qualification and experience.

Essential qualification: PhD in Bioinformatics or a related discipline, with 2 years experience

Desirable:

1. Experience in whole exome/genome/transcriptome (WES/WGS/RNA-Seq) data analysis pipeline and the relevant expertise in Linux environment.

2. Experience in scripting and statistical languages including but not limited to Perl/Python/R.

3. Experience in Next Generation Sequencing data analysis on High-Performance Computing (HPC) Clusters.

4. Experience in handling data management platforms and maintenance of NGS data.

Salary: As per institute norms.
