The Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) (https://www.ncbs.res.in/cbm/) is an exciting new scientific venture of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), supported by the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. The CBM undertakes modern, inter-disciplinary research in the area of human mental illness with the goal of discovering novel and better methods for the diagnosis and clinical management of mental illness.
One of the goals of the CBM is to engage with the broader research community, worldwide, build networks and catalyse collaborations to accelerate the development of solutions for patients with mental illness.
We are looking to recruit an Associate Director (External Engagements) to take forward the engagement of CBM with the broader scientific community across disciplines, institutes and regions. The role will involve developing partnerships with external stakeholders including external researchers and programs, the broader scientific community, funding agencies, patient groups and other relevant stakeholders.
The position will based out of NCBS but will involve travel to liaise with external stakeholders. The appointee will report to the senior scientific management of CBM. The appointment will be a fixed-term position initially for one (1) year and renewable annually subject to the outcome of a performance assessment. The position comes with consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, subject to institutional guidelines.
Qualifications
Essential
1. Postgraduate degree in clinical medicine (MD, MS) or Ph.D in neuroscience
2. Demonstrated track record in partnership building around biomedical sciences.
Desirable
1. Strong inter-personal skills.
2. Demonstrated ability to synthesize scientific information and skills in scientific writing.
3. Prior experience in science communication to literate or lay audiences including the use of modern social media platforms.
4. Prior track record of excellent scientific presentation skills
5. 2 years working experience in clinical or basic neuroscience after the last degree.
6. Prior experience in the regulatory landscape, particularly in relation to biomedical research.
Consolidated Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification.
