Amlan Datta

Amlan Datta obtained Diploma in Films with specialisation in Motion Picture Photography from Film & Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune in 1996. He has since been making films as an independent filmmaker and as producer under Animagineer. The spectrum of production includes independent documentaries, short films, television projects, industrial videos and TV commercials. As a producer, Amlanhas been rewarded twice by the prestigious Indian National Film Awards in the non-feature category; Special Jury in 2007 & Best Environmental Film in 2009. He has also served as a jury for the 58th National Film Awards 2010 in the non-feature section. Amlan is also a social activist, a philanthropist and founder member of Bom-Bom Charitable Trust (preserving nature and its people, www.bom-bom.in). 'Bom - aka One Day Ahead of Democracy' is his first feature length film.
