Roanne Dods

Roanne establised the Jerwood Charitable Foundation (JCF), as an influential and significant funder of artists in the UK. The aim of the organisation, instilled by Roanne, was that its support should allow artists to thrive in their development primarily by maintaining the integrity of their vision and not through compromise. At JCF Roanne oversaw the expansion of Jerwood’s activities across all art forms. In 2004, the International Society for the Performing Art presented her with an Angel Award for ‘innovative and spectacular work across the artistic spectrum’. In 2010, she was appointed as one of the Cultural Leadership Programme’s ‘Women to Watch’. Since leaving Jerwood, Roanne has supported a number of organizations reach their potential through change processes, including but not limited to Cove Park, PAL Labs, Battersea Arts Centre and Glasgow International Festival of Visual Arts. Roanne has also founded, with co-directors, three organisations in the last five years; IC:Innovative Craft; Mission, Models, Money and The Work Room. She also serves on several key Boards, including Chair of Battersea Arts Centre, Young Vic Theatre, Sistema Scotland, Fuel Theatre, Cove Park, International Futures Forum and Vice Chair of Scottish Ballet.
