The Ashtavaidya Archives is a unique collection of videotaped interviews and digital copies of old photographs, newspaper articles, writings and other documents from Ashtavaidya families. The interviews and digital documents have been deposited with the NCBS library, Bangalore.

We videotaped interviews with almost all the practising Ashtavaidya physicians of Kerala. Interviews were conducted with the last of the older traditional masters as well as the younger generation of physicians who went through the modern system of learning in Ayurvedic colleges. Extensive interviews were conducted with the reknowned scholar physician Vaidyamadham Cheria Narayanan Namboodiri who is the doyen of the Ashtavaidyas.

The interviews have been translated into English and will soon be published on the NCBS website. Excerpts from the video recordings of interviews will also be made available shortly on the NCBS website.
