I will introduce various stochastic processes of relevance to biological systems (e.g. diffusion, stochastic gene expression, stochastic signalling). We will cover mathematical descriptions, methods of solution, and simulations. We will use but not tightly follow the textbook by Van Kampen: Stochastic Processes in Physics and Chemistry.
