An exhibition showcasing the journey of the Energiewende – one of Germany’s most important projects, and one that answers the question: “How can we make energy supply secure, affordable, and sustainable?”

This exhibition is carried out in collaboration with the German Federal Foreign Office, the Indo-German Energy Forum, Science Gallery Bengaluru, Bengaluru Sustainability Forum and the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS). It is visually attractive, informative, comprehensible, and will be hosted at Raspuri Hall at NCBS.

The German Energiewende exhibition provides an outline of the various strategies Germany uses in order to achieve the target of producing 100% renewable energy for the nation. This is done by creating technologies and implementing solutions that are more energy efficient, and by investing heavily in renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydro. There is detailed information on each aspect of the challenges they face, and the solutions that the Energiewende project has come up with.

The exhibition also focuses on how renewable energy is affordable and economically sustainable, even for developing nations. The exhibition is an extension of existing Indo-German cooperation on sustainable energy initiatives and business, as well as the participation of German companies in the “Make in India” initiative.

The exhibition will be held from the 18th - 23rd of November, 2019 and is free and open to the public. It is suitable for students from Class 10 and upward.

The opening event on 18th November includes a panel discussion with Amir Bazaz (IIHS), Martin Rohlmann (Consulate General), Palak Aggarwal (Batti Ghar), Tejal Kanitkar(NIAS).
