EuroSPIN is a PhD programme in Neuroinformatics, including Computational Neuroscience. It is a doctoral training programme with partner universities in Sweden (KTH Royal Institute of Technology), the UK (University of Edinburgh), Germany (Albert-Ludwigs-Universitaet Freiburg) and India (National Centre for Biological Science).

All students are working in the field of Computational Neuroscience combining neuroscience and informatics research to develop and apply computational tools and approaches that are essential for understanding the structure and function of the brain (https://www.kth.se/en/studies/phd/2.17049).

For fruitful scientific exchange amongst the students a workshop is held every year in one of the partner universities. This year’s workshop will be at NCBS and is student lead. It focuses on research and knowledge exchange of the current students. This will take place in the format of talks, workshops with hands-on sessions and Journal Club like discussion blocks. We are also very pleased to have a number of guest speakers and are very keen on integrating local PhD and postgraduate students to present their work and attend our sessions.

We are looking forward to four days of interactive knowledge exchange and interesting discussion about current hot-topics in the field of computational neuroscience.

If you are a student at NCBS or the Indian Institute of Science, working in a field related to Neuroinformatics or Computational Neuroscience, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us and we are happy about your contribution and attendance of the meeting.

(meeting organisation: Katharina Heil (k.f.heil@sms.ed.ac.uk) and Luiz Tauffer (luiz.tauffer@bcf.uni-freiburg.de), both EuroSPIN PhD students)
