On December 20th, our speaker is Dr. Karthick Balasubramanian, Agharkar Research Institute, Pune. He's going to introduce us to diatoms!
In this talk, I will introduce the living glasshouse, diatoms, and their biological uniqueness and ecosystem services. Further, I will emphasise the various applications of diatoms, ranging from water quality monitoring to nanotechnological applications. Finally, I conclude this talk with some fun applications of diatoms, from brewing, barbecues, to tracing human history, and the Nobel prize.
