Understanding and designing protein assemblies using computational methods.

Forming the correct 3D structure is essential for a protein’s function since it allows the protein to correctly interact with other proteins or biomolecules. If another copy of the same protein (or even its fragment) is present nearby protein during the folding process, the protein may interact with it and assemble into a different structure. My project aims to understand how such protein assemblies are formed and how they affect the function of the proteins. These insights would allow us to better understand diseases involving protein assembly and can also be used to regulate the folding and assembly of specific proteins.
