Research Interest

As a postdoc fellow at NCBS, I tried to understand the domain-swapping mechanism as a unique approach for protein assembly using Monellin- a cystatin superfamily protein as a model.

Currently I am working as a Postdoctoral scholar at Department of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, University of Iowa Health Care. My current work is to understand the structure and function of two key transcription factors, Cone–rod homeobox (CRX) and neural retina leucine zipper (NRL) which controls photoreceptor differentiation and maintenance. Mutations in CRX and NRL underlie severe retinal diseases and our aim is to understand the mechanism of CRX and NRL which facilitate to develop new targeted therapies for treating visual disorders.
