I'm Hitakshi, and my primary interest revolves around studying host-pathogen interactions to find novel therapeutic strategies. As we know that, there is a constant struggle between host and pathogens for survival and defense, so exploring cellular and molecular pathways of the host cell during infection is indispensable to develop potential targets of host directed interventions. Specifically, during Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, I am trying to understand signalling mechanisms and pathways associated with the process of phagosome maturation. Previously, I was looking into mechanisms through which this pathogen acquires antibiotic resistance. Now, with the knowledge of cellular interventions, I am aiming to comprehensively understand the interaction.
