Research Interest
I am investigating the fitness effects of inbreeding in a small, isolated population of tigers in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. I use genomic and chemical ecology techniques to decode information on inbreeding from non-invasive samples like faeces and urine. In the long run, my work will help devise better management strategies for wild inbred populations. I also intend to develop volatile sampling techniques to monitor demographic parameters such as age and sex.
