Mitotic bookmarking of active chromatin and recovery of optimal transcription rates post mitosis. After receiving all the text book knowledge from school and college, I wondered what research was like and so landed straight in a PhD programme after bachelors. Interestingly cell division was never my favorite but I started looking at cellular memory maintenance through mitoses. Am trying to find out if a single mitotic histone modification can be orchestrating the transcriptional and organisational resetting in cells after the eradication of the same during chromosome condensation.
